One minute book review time, the thought leaders practice by Matt Church. Now this book isn't for you if you want to scale your agency, a big, sell and exit for a few million quid in a few years of time.

0:16

This book is for you and it's an ultimate business model if you want to stay small, be good, be highly profitable, and just do more of what you love.

0:25

It's a completely different idea to how a business should be or how a business could be run. I use it to model my business and my business is effectively me, with some administrative support and some virtual assistants. And what the model suggests is rather than trying to do three or four things at once, pick a piece of IP, pick a delivery mechanism and pick a target audience, and just focus on that until you've hit a certain revenue target.

0:53

So a piece of IP might be a strategy, putting together a strategy. A delivery mechanism could be a book, an e-book, a course, a public speaking, mastermind groups, coaching programs, training programs, whatever.

1:07

So doing strategy as public speaking for digital agency owners, that's one cluster. Now go and do that until you've hit a certain revenue target.

1:17

And then when you've hit that revenue target and it's recurring go onto a next cluster. And that next cluster could be the same IP through a different delivery mechanism.

1:27

So putting a strategy together, but we're going to do it as a course, and we're going to do it for agency owners. And then we're going to try and hit that that revenue target.

1:37

So it's a different way to scale your business. It's not about generating long-term capital value in your agency. Okay? If you follow this model, your business, isn't going to be worth anything at the end to sell, but it is going to allow you to do more of what you love in a repeatable consistent way.

1:50

That's super profitable. That helps create a thought leader from you and give you the confidence to do it and maps out the whole process for you.

1:60

10 out of 10. If you want to stay small, be good, be profitable and do more of what you love. It's a 10 out of 10.

2:05

If you want to scale, get big, exit for a large amount of money in a few years of time, it's not the model to follow. So don't read it.

2:12

But if you've had enough of running your agency and you think there might be a different way, you just want to get paid for doing something that you really, really enjoy follow the thought leaders practice again, it's a little bit of a Bible, by Matt Church and Peter Kirk.
10 out of 10.
